So you've decided you're moving to Atlanta. First of all, let me say that it is one of the finest places in the country to live. The only negatives are traffic and August, the hottest month of the year that gives Atlanta the nickname "Hotlanta". This morning I chatted with someone moving here from Wichita, Kansas who lives in a small town of 4,000 people.

Culture shock is inevitable in this situation however this person was craving information and just didn't know where to obtain the best resources for studying the North Atlanta housing market. If you find yourself being relocated to Atlanta, these 3 websites will help you a great deal:

www.City-Data.com

This handy little resource has over 600,000 members. Just type in the city you're interested in and it will spit out more data than you can absorb in one sitting. Don't forget to check out the forums, incredible information and opinions here.

www.GreatSchools.net

Voted "Best Family and Parenting Site" by the Webby Awards. Opinions, forums, and factual information on all Atlanta public and private schools.

Independent school research provided by the Georgia Public Policy Foundation. Since 1991, the Georgia Public Policy Foundation has conducted scholarly research and analysis of state public policy issues. The Foundation is state-focused, independent, non-partisan and market-oriented in its approach. Use these 3 resources in your relocation toolbox and you'll become educated very quickly on the desirable areas of Atlanta. Feel free to use me as a resource as well, you can reach me at 678-388-1020 for all of your Atlanta real estate questions.
