True Vinings is defined as the only part of Cobb County with an Atlanta address and zip code of 30339. Any other use of the word Vinings is for convenience & profit only. Many builders and developers are calling some areas of Smyrna and Mableton Vinings. The locals use the term Sminings to describe the attempted blurred boundaries. No matter how much people try to extend the geographical reach of the prestige of Vinings, you will definitely know when you are there.
Vinings is located just inside the perimter (I-285) and west of I-75. Some of the most beautiful architecture in Atlanta is nestled on gentle rolling hills of South Cobb county. While Buckhead has a big city feel to it, Vinings is more quaint and quiet. There are far less high and midrise condo projects and more single family dwellings. The heart of Vinings downtown district lies on a 1/2 mile stretch of Paces Ferry Road and consists of quaint shops & restaurants blended nicely with single family homes, townhomes, and condominiums.
